Banned driver could lose his cheap car insurance
A bus driver could be excluded from cheap car insurance in the future after being given a six month driving ban.
Stephen Alcock, 38, of Blackburn, was caught sending text messages and using his Playstation games console as he let people get off the bus and stopped at traffic lights.
His boss caught him on video after a passenger made a complaint about him using the devices on a snowy road.
Catherine Allen, prosecuting, said, "Passengers were very scared."
The bus driver was given a six month ban and ordered to pay a £200 fine.
A spokesperson for Duck2Water Car Insurance Services, the expert motor insurance provider said, "Using a mobile phone or Playstaion behind the wheel is very dangerous.
"Mr Alcock could now find it difficult to get cheap car insurance in the future and will have to search for the best online car insurance quotes."
