Get car insurance while doing the weekly shop

Many supermarkets now provide insurance policies including vehicle insurance to their customers which means we can get ourselves covered while we do the weekly shop.

Supermarket chain, Asda are aiming to knock Tesco of the top spot for number one supermarket general insurance provider with a massive nationwide marketing campaign.

Asda believes that within three to five years they will gain 500,000 new policy holders with the aid of combined television, radio and newspaper advertising. A television advert has been piloted in Scotland since August 2005 and will be on our screens at the start of 2006.

Norwich Union underwrites household, travel and motor insurance for Asda and will continue to do so until 2009. BDML Connect has also signed up to provide cover for any customers that Norwich Union is not prepared to take on.

This supermarket insurance phenomenon means that there is now even more choice when you are looking for car insurance. If your current policy is up for renewal remember to shop around.

There are many special deals to be had for young drivers, female drivers and married couples. Many motor insurance companies offer special rewards and extras at no additional costs.

So next time you are loading the Sunday joint into your shopping basket think long and hard whether your motor insurance is right for you.
