Cheap car insurance is still up for grabs
Cheap car insurance is accessible if you are with an online car insurance provider such as duck2water. But, with the annual rise of car insurance premiums looming once again, some motorists may feel that a cheap car insurance rate is becoming further from their reach.
Over the past three months the average cost of fully comprehensive car insurance cover has risen half a per cent to £762. This is comparable to the price of flying to an exotic destination for a fortnight or even the cost of a second hand car.
It seems that the reason for an increase in motor insurance rates is the cost to the industry. Managing director of AA Insurance, Kevin Sinclair, states that the cost of claims now exceeds premiums by 9%. So, perhaps we're not getting such a raw deal.
However, those that take the time to shop around could still obtain a fairly cheap car insurance deal. By obtaining online quotes and taking advantage of price comparison websites, drivers can lower this average to £463, a saving of almost £300.
