Cheap car insurance under threat for pop star

Chart-topping singing sensation George Michael is lucky not to be facing criminal charges and the loss of his cheap car insurance after various newspapers claimed he was seen asleep at the wheel of his car.

According to tabloid reports, he was photographed snoozing at traffic lights in London and did not wake up until another driver banged on his window.

An eyewitness told the News of the World, "He was sweating heavily and had his iPod on. That's probably why he didn't hear all the angry tooting behind him.

"He got going again but was weaving all over the place. Then he hit a bollard. I doubt he even noticed it. He looked wasted. He just drove on."

This is just the latest in a series of recent stories reporting the former Wham frontman's involvement in driving incidents, and in April he was questioned by police after allegedly writing-off several parked cars in a hit-and-run incident in London. He was also cautioned by police for possessing cannabis after another incident saw him fall asleep at the wheel in February.

A spokesperson from Duck2Water Car Insurance Services, the cheap car insurance experts, commented, "It sounds like George needs a good night's sleep.

"Driving when tired is massively dangerous and can easily result in accidents that will hike up the price of your motor insurance."
