Experts fear for cheap car insurance

A spokesperson for the RAC has predicted that car insurance prices are set to increase further following the publication of the motoring organisation's latest study.

According to the RAC's most recent statistics, there are currently over 1.25million uninsured drivers and 1.75million cars without valid road tax in the UK.

Discussing the issue live on Sky News, spokeswoman Rebecca Bell insisted that the lack of car insurance in Britain was an increasing problem.

She said, "We have a problem in this country with a growing number of uninsured drivers who simply cannot afford the fees to pay the premiums which need to be charged in order to insure an average vehicle."

Ms Bell also added that the extra liability caused by the problem is currently adding an average of £30 to every motor insurance premium in the UK. She warned that this figure will only increase as the number of uninsured drivers goes up.

Rebecca Pearson from Duck2Water Car Insurance Services, online providers of cheap car insurance, said, "Uninsured drivers cost us all dearly, but hopefully the Government are going to clamp down on the problem soon."
