Man could risk losing cheap motor insurance quotes
A disqualified driver who crashed a company car after he had been drinking has appeared in court.
David Price from Taverham, Norfolk, could find it difficult to get a cheap motor insurance quote in the future if he is convicted of the charges against him.
The 46-year-old told Moore Civil Engineering in Bungay that he had no previous convictions but had in fact had been banned for his third drink-driving offence in October 2003.
On the evening of Easter Monday this year, Price was driving the company's Vauxhall Astra in Hellesdon when he collided with a Volkswagen Golf after driving around the bend on the wrong side of a carriageway.
Price suffered serious personal injuries in the car accident and still needs to walk with the aid crutches. The driver of the other vehicle also sustained serious injuries and may want to claim on their vehicle insurance for the damage caused in the road accident.
Price admitted deception, aggravated vehicle taking, driving while unfit and banned, and without vehicle insurance.
The case was adjourned for a pre-sentence report to be prepared and Price was given bail until the next hearing.
In the future, Price could find it difficult to get an affordable motor insurance quote if he is sent to jail for the offences.
