Mini Convertible best seller in 2005
Sales rankings show that the Mini Convertible was the most popular convertible in the UK in 2005, with 9,845 sold.

The year was a very successful one for Mini, with sales up 11% for the year until November compared to the most popular convertible of 2004. Another feather in the cap for the Mini Convertible was winning the What Car? Magazine “Best Convertible” title in August, beating rivals such as the Peugeot 206CC and the VW Beetle Cabrio. Simon Foley, a happy Mini Convertible owner, says: “These days there’s absolutely no drawback to owning a convertible. In fact, throughout the winter it’s just like owning a hatch and, when the sun finally appears, you’ve got the option of dropping the roof and properly taking in your surrounds!” |
There are 3 Mini Convertibles for enthusiasts like Mr Foley to pick from; the Mini One Convertible, the Mini Cooper Convertible and the Mini Cooper S Convertible, which range from car insurance group 6 to group 16.
Despite the chilly end to 2005, on average the year was another warm one for the UK, appearing in the list of the top 10 hottest years since 1658 when records started, no doubt helping Convertible sales.
