Buying breakdown cover with motor insurance could equal savings
Those who like to get their car covered in case of breakdowns as well as a cheap motor insurance quote might find getting both at once could save them money.
Research by Liverpool Victoria has shown that motorists who plump for breakdown cover as an extra with their motor insurance quote can save up to £40 a year. Over the whole country, this could save motorists a total of £250 million.
Nigel Snell of Liverpool Victoria said, "We recognise that Britain's drivers who join motoring associations directly do receive a valuable service.
"However, millions of motorists could save significantly by extending their motor insurance policy to include breakdown cover, rather than joining a motoring association directly."
What with the rising cost of fuel and other high motoring costs, many people are on a drive to cut down the amount of money they spend on their car. Cheap car insurance has typically been an area in which huge savings can be made but it seems that breakdown cover might be able to save customers a few quid too.
