New Mercedes 4x4
 |
Mercedes has announced a new off roader, the GL-Class, which will first be seen at the Detroit Motor Show in January.
The GL-Class is designed to be luxurious and comfortable at all times, but without losing any of the off-road functionality. With full time four wheel drive, hill-start assist, downhill speed regulation, and an air suspension which can give a ground clearance of 307mm, it can handle the roughest terrain with ease.
The GL-Class comes with a range of diesel engines that range between V6 and V8, providing power and reliability for off-road antics. |
It boasts excellent safety features, such as multiple airbags and windowbags, first class neck protection and three point seatbelts on all seats. Also present are the passive and active handling systems, which include ESP, ABS and BAS.
These safety and security features are sure to bring car insurance for the GL-Class down, making this 4x4 a top pick for many people. It is due to be released in the US in April 2006 and in the UK in late 2006 at an unspecified price, thought to be around £40,000.
