New policy offered for multi-car households

Car insurance firm Admiral are targeting families with more than one car as part of a new initiative.

They have unveiled a new policy that allows drivers with two or more cars in a household to cover them on the same policy and then receive a discount on the premium.

Calling it the “Multicar” policy, Admiral are aiming their new idea at the seven million UK households that own more than one car, and it will cater for those that have up to five cars registered at the same address.

Managing director Sharon Clarke said, “Multicar is unique, it means you can deal with one insurance company, so less phoning round, less dates to remember and less to worry about. On top of this, it also means less money to pay out on car insurance. The more cars that a customer puts on the policy, the more discount we offer.”

The initiative is good news for cheap car insurance, and means that if someone listed on the policy has an accident, only that person’s no claims discount will be affected.

Other car insurance companies are sure to follow Admiral’s lead and soon offer a similar deal.
