Potential thief could find it difficult to get cheap motor insurance quote

A man and his nephew were attacked by a man with a sword as they looked for a stolen car in West Belfast.

The man with the sword could have possibly stolen the vehicle and may risk losing cheap motor insurance quotes in the future if found guilty of committing the offence.

The uncle who found the vehicle is believed to have had his car stolen during a burglary on Wednesday and was waiting with his nephew for the police to arrive, when a man came out of the house carrying a sword.

The uncle said, "He shouted at me, 'this is my car', then pulled a sword out and tried to stick in into me."

The man carrying the sword allegedly chased the uncle and attacked the car with his nephew sitting inside, cutting him several times before walking away.

If he is proved of stealing the car, he could possibly find it difficult to get affordable motor insurance quote in the future.

A spokesperson for Duck2Water Car Insurance Services, the expert cheap motor insurance provider, said, "If your car has been stolen, you should contact the police immediately and let your vehicle insurance provider know that the car has been taken."

Police are calling for witnesses who may have seen the attacker described as being in his early 20's, approximately 6ft tall and of thin build with short black hair.
