RAC and Autocar call for safer driving resolution
The RAC Foundation and Autocar magazine have together called for motorists to make a new year’s resolution to become a safer driver.
Suggestions of how to achieve this goal include taking advanced driver tuition, leaving more time for each journey, planning routes, paying more attention to the effects of weather conditions, and keeping vehicles in better condition.
Autocar editor Rob Aherne comments on the plea for safer driving: “Approximately 10 people are killed on our roads every day. Many drivers take pride in their cars, but if they took the same pride in their driving skills then the UK’s roads would be safer for everyone.”
Being a better driver not only means that you have more chance of staying safe on the road, but also means cheaper car insurance with many car insurance companies offering discounts for people who have taken advanced driving tests.
