UK online car insurance company adds road rage protection option
UK online car insurance company Adrian Flux has added "road rage insurance" as an optional extra for its motor insurance.
Road rage is a growing problem, with nine out of ten drivers saying that they have been on the receiving end of it at least once. However, in the same survey seven out of ten drivers aged 16 to 30 claim that they themselves have been guilty of becoming angry behind the wheel.
This road rage insurance, which can be selected as an option for UK online car insurance with Adrian Flux, costs £13.00. It will cover drivers for up to £150,000 should they be attacked in a road rage incident, and will protect against the costs of emergency dental treatment, time in hospital, replacement of clothing and counselling for stress.
Edmund King of RAC commented on the problem of road rage, saying, "Road rage seems to be linked to congestion and stress, as most incidents occur in busier towns and cities.
"Drivers should not respond aggressively to irritation on the roads. It may be tough on the streets but that's no excuse for raging against other drivers."
