Speeding driver could miss out on cheap motor insurance quote
Police are calling for witnesses of a near fatal accident after a speeding car almost hit a four-year-old boy.
The small boy was waiting at a pedestrian crossing in East Grinstead with his mother and sister when a purple convertible ran through a red light. The driver failed to stop after speeding past the family and shocked onlookers were alerted by the mother's screams.
The mother told reporters, "The car was a convertible and the roof was down so the occupants would have had to have had their music on really loud not to hear me."
Reckless drivers will find it difficult to get cheap car insurance and the driver of the convertible may get penalty points added to his licence if he is caught driving in such a manner in the future. Such points will then make it difficult to get a cheap motor insurance quote.
Witnesses are being urged to contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or www.crimestoppers-uk.org
