Supermarket offers free shopping for car insurance customers

A supermarket giant is offering customers £20 of free shopping if they sign up with their car insurance scheme.

Tesco have revealed that anyone who buys a motor insurance policy from them before 30th April 2006 will be sent a gift card that can be used to buy from their stores or fill up at their petrol stations. The offer is open to all Tesco Car Insurance customers who purchase cover over the telephone or online, and all those choosing to use the web will receive an extra 10% discount.

The supermarket car insurance firm currently cover 1.4million motorists and are one of the five biggest motor insurance organisations in the United Kingdom. As well as providing cheap car insurance and all the groceries you could ever desire, Tesco offer a range of services including mortgages, internet connection, loans and savings accounts.

However, the supermarket giant is beginning to feel a backlash against its huge power, waged by an umbrella alliance of trade unionists, campaigners, charities and environmentalists who are protesting about the impact that it has on local communities.
