Teenager crashes into a tree angering hundreds of bees

A teenage driver has been taken to hospital after her car crashed into a hollow tree angering hundreds of bees.

Jacqueline Cossairt, 16, lost control of her sports utility vehicle and crashed into the tree on Tuesday near Fort Wayne, Indiana. In the future, she could be given expensive motor insurance quotes if she makes a claim for the car accident.

When emergency vehicles arrived at the scene, they found the teenager's car engulfed in a black cloud of angry bees.

To avoid being stung by the bees, Firefighters were reported to have worn full safety gear including oxygen tanks and face masks.

Volunteer Fire Chief Kent Gilbert was stung at least 50 times when pulling the teenage driver from her vehicle.

He said, "Those bees were mad, I've never seen honeybees attack like that."

The teenager was taken to Lutheran Hospital suffering from broken legs and multiple bee stings.

If Cossairt was to claim on her car insurance she may find it difficult to get a cheap motor insurance quote in the future.
