Will I get a replacement car in the event of an accident?
If you have been involved in a non-fault accident, duck2water legal expenses insurance policy may provide a free replacement car for you to use whilst yours is off the road, as long as you are able to provide details of the person who caused the accident (the third party), their vehicle registration number, their car insurance company, and there is an admission of liability from the third party’s car insurance company. A replacement car may be available under the terms of your insurance policy or from the bodyshop where your vehicle is repaired.
In the event of a fault accident a replacement car may be available from the repairing body shop. This is subject to their policies and availability.
Can I drive another person’s car?
Like an increasing number of other insurance providers our insurethebox private car policy does not cover you to drive other cars, unless the car in question has been loaned to you by the motor trade or our approved car hire supplier while your own car is being serviced or repaired. If you wish to drive another car then please ensure the owner of the car extends their insurance to include driving by you
I've been a named driver on someone else's policy for a few years so does that entitle me to a no-claims discount if I start on my own?
It is only possible for the named policyholder to benefit from any reduction in premium based on a no-claims record, but we can usually arrange an introductory discount for you if you are claim-free for a number of years before taking out a policy of your own.
