Will I get a replacement car in the event of an accident?
If you have been involved in a non-fault accident your duck2water legal expenses insurance policy can provide a free replacement car for you to use whilst yours is off the road, as long as you are able to provide details of the person who caused the accident (the third party), their vehicle registration number, their car insurance company, and there is an admission of liability from the third party’s car insurance company. A replacement car may be available under the terms of your insurance policy or from the bodyshop where your vehicle is repaired.

In the event of a fault accident a replacement car may be available from the repairing body shop. This is subject to their policies and availability.

Can I drive another person’s car?
Most policyholders over 25 are provided with cover which enables them to drive other people’s cars. However, you need to check your policy documents to make sure you have this entitlement, which is generally limited to third party cover only. This would leave you liable for any damage to the car in the event of an accident.

I've been a named driver on someone else's policy for a few years so does that entitle me to a no-claims discount if I start on my own?
It is only possible for the named policyholder to benefit from any reduction in premium based on a no-claims record, but we can usually arrange an introductory discount for you if you are claim-free for a number of years before taking out a policy of your own.
