Decals making for some Funky Ford Kas

It has always puzzled me that people do not do more with their cars. Nearly everyone drives around in plain-looking cars which look pretty similar and convey absolutely no individuality whatsoever. Occasionally you will see one that someone has put a bit of effort into personalising; there is a van that drives around my area that has multicoloured panels in primary colours and it simply looks fantastic.

To me, the body of a car is a blank canvas just asking to be adorned with decoration. Just think of the possibilities: you could have a daisy chain running right around the car and up the A-pillars, or perhaps a line or two from your favourite song printed on the driver's door. You could even go for a spray of bubbles across the wheelarch for a bit of fun.

If we put making the car look pretty aside, could you even get paid for driving around the roads if you have advertising on your vehicle? "Joe Bloggs' Cars is the best place to buy a Ford" written in brightly coloured lettering across the bonnet might not be the subtlest of slogans, but it could be valuable publicity for the company. If this has given you any ideas, make sure you ask the company before you start painting your car though!

The reason that most people don't decorate their cars is probably because whilst it might be fun for a while, they don't want anything permanent - especially when the time comes to sell the vehicle. A repainting job is thus probably reserved for only those older models which you plan to keep until their dying day. So what is the alternative?

Ford has recently announced that is it launching a range of decals for its Ka model. Decals can be quickly and cheaply applied and what's more, can usually be quite easily removed with the help of a hairdryer and some patience. The Ka-ligraphy, as Ford has so wittily named the decals, mean that motorists can enjoy the benefits of personalising their car, without the downsides that come with paint.

Ford fans will be able to choose their perfect individualisation from a selection of fun and funky decals to go with their fun and funky Ka. This range includes the twelve zodiac signs for use on the roof, a full-body butterfly design, or for the ultimate Ford enthusiast, a little "I luv my Ka" sticker. What's more, these are available in several colours so you can choose the one that best complements your Ka's main body colour.

With all Ford dealerships stocking and able to fit these Ka-ligraphy decals, it is likely that we will soon be seeing more decorated cars on the roads. Even if they prove to be very popular, we could even see them extended to some more of the Ford model range, such as the Fiesta.

However, it is doubtful that they'll ever start a range of decals for the larger cars like the Mondeo or the S-Max. This is because the colourful decals will probably go down best with the target audience of the Ka - the young drivers who want to have fun with their car and don't mind flaunting their individuality for all to see.
