Man sentenced for car insurance quote deception
A driver has admitted deception after failing to disclose two important facts when buying motor insurance.
The 52-year-old, from Blackpool, did not reveal that he was disqualified from driving or that he suffered from epilepsy when he was getting car insurance quotes for two vehicles.
His disqualification had come about as a result of a conviction for drink driving, which was issued in 2004.
He then accepted two car insurance quotes but still did not disclose that he had a medical condition and that he was currently banned from driving.
After his actions were discovered, he was charged with deception and brought before Blackpool magistrates. He was given a 90 day suspended sentence, ordered to pay £60 costs and given a one-year supervision order.
