Respondents took into account factors such as value for money, quality and image when deciding on their most trusted brand, although the importance that people place on each one can differ quite dramatically from country to country. It was a strong performance in all three of these areas, as well as brand heritage and responsibility towards the environment that likely helped Ford to secure the first place for the seventh year running.

Fans of Ford will know that Ford's repeated success in the "Most Trusted Brand" awards is not an isolated win. Ford has also been coming top of the Business in the Community's "Companies that Count" survey, again taking victory in its sector in 2007. This success as a "Company that Counts" in Britain confirms Ford's commitment to act responsibly."

Used Car Awards.

In a remarkable quadruple win, Ford vehicles came top of some of the most competitive categories at these awards. The Ford Focus saw off rivals such as the Vauxhall Vectra and the Mazda 6 to claim top spot as the Best Used Car of 2006, whilst it also triumphed in the Best Used Small Family Car category. The Ford Mondeo was voted Best Used Family Car thanks to its excellent provision of space and high efficiency, and it was decided that the Best Used Supermini was the Ford Fiesta.

As they announced the Ford Focus' overall win, the What Car? judges described it as "all the car that most buyers will ever need." With a recommendation like that, Ford truly can claim to be the top car manufacturer in the UK.
