Amex recommends full comp motor insurance quotes

American Express is advising drivers to choose the comprehensive car insurance option when getting motor insurance quotes if they want to protect against uninsured drivers.

It warns that with the very high number of uninsured motorists on UK roads, drivers could be at financial risk if they do not have proper cover.

A spokesperson for American Express said: "Those with fully comprehensive insurance should be covered for repairs to their car.

However, the spokesperson also warned that drivers may lose their no claims discount should they need to claim on their car insurance, and reveals that they may not be covered for medical and legal bills.

American Express estimates that uninsured drivers add between £25 and £30 to UK drivers' motor insurance quotes.
