Motor insurance quote experts reveal lure of pub grub

The cheap motor insurance quote experts at Privilege Insurance have been doing some research into that age-old British tradition: going down the pub.

The car insurance company claims that more people than ever are abandoning their local in favour of pubs that offer good food but are located further away.

Privilege Insurance researchers found that 44% of people who enjoy pub grub would be happy to drive more than 10 miles to enjoy a good meal, whilst around 10% would be prepared to make a 20 mile trip.

The survey found that young drivers were the biggest fans of pub food, but were also the most likely to risk their future motor insurance quotes by getting behind the wheel when over the drink drive limit.

A spokesman for Privilege Insurance said: "We advise food-loving motorists that, if you do like a drink with your lunch, stick to a pub within walking distance or be prepared to take a taxi home.

"With so many great gastro pubs out there serving great food at reasonable prices, we are seeing the return of the weekend drive, as more and more people travel further afield to try out new places."
