Suspected stolen BMW in crash injuring six people
It is unlikely any BMW car insurance policy will pay out for any injuries or damage caused in an accident in south Yorkshire.
Police have arrested two men from the BMW, who were from Nottingham, after the smash near Barnsley. They face being charged with motoring and car theft offences such as driving without motor cover.
It is believed the BMW, black in colour, was stolen when it was in collision with a green Renault Clio.
A total of six people were injured in the crash including teenagers - three in the BMW and three in the Clio. Serious head injuries, as well as back, hip and minor injuries were reported to have been suffered by car occupants.
If the car turns out to be stolen as police suspect, any BMW car insurance cover is likely to be invalid. Compensation would have to be sought from the Motor Insurers' Bureau (MIB).
