Cheap car insurance company wins best workplace award

The cheap car insurance company Admiral has been named as the best workplace for camaraderie by the Great Place to Work Institute of Europe.

Admiral, which is based in Cardiff and Swansea, promotes a fun atmosphere for its 2,000 workers by encouraging them to hold events and providing activities such as pool to keep employees entertained over lunch breaks.

The motor insurance firm was one of more than 1,000 companies that entered the competition, but beat off other favourites ConSol Software and Management Events to come first in the camaraderie contest.

A spokesperson for the cheap car insurance company said: "As we have grown over the years we have managed to keep the culture and atmosphere of a much smaller company, so people feel part of the family."
