Cost of fuel, maintenance and car insurance makes you wait
The continuing cost of maintaining a car, including cost of car insurance, is the chief factor for consideration when a consumer buys a car, or so say the British Car Auction (BCA).
A recent BCA poll has revealed that 28 percent of potential car buyers would consider the C02 emissions of the vehicle as a means to saving money as road tax will be cheaper.
Meanwhile, 22 percent of those questioned say the vehicle's fuel and maintenance costs were the chief factor, nine percent would look specifically for a car with a cheap car insurance rate, and a further nine highlighted basic purchase price of the car.
The credit crunch is being blamed for the seven percent who told the BCA that they are putting off buying a new car for a little longer than they would like, whilst four percent are deferring indefinitely.
Peter Cooke, author of the BCA report, said, "The economic downturn might encourage more traditional new-car buyers to either trade down to a smaller new car or buy a quality used car instead of a new one."
A duck2water spokesperson commented, "If cheap car insurance is your priority when purchasing a car, online car insurance providers can provide really competitive quotes to enable you to buy the model that you would like rather than making a compromise."
