Cheap car insurance areas of the UK
The latest car insurance survey has found that the place to go for a cheap quote is.Scotland.
A well known price comparison website analysed nearly one million car insurance quotes given over a one-year period and found seven of the ten best value UK areas for motor insurance cover were in Scotland.
It seems that living at either end of our sceptred isle could prove best for cheap car insurance deals as Penzance and Truro, both in Cornwall, also featured in the top ten.
Motorists in Birmingham and Manchester pay the most for their cover, with those car owners in the M13 postcode area of Manchester paying an average lowest quote of £873. That's an astonishing £517 more than the lucky drivers in Truro.
Steve Sweeney, head of car insurance at the website, said, "An array of factors can determine the price you will pay for car insurance, from crime and population levels in your area to where you park your vehicle. If your area is classified as 'high risk', insurers who don't assess motor insurance on an individual basis may adopt a blanket approach and many motorists could find their insurance is quite high to compensate for this."
