Birthdays pinpoint dangerous drivers on UK roads
Birthdays of UK drivers seem to determine how likely they are to make car insurance claims, according to research just published.
About two million claims were analysed and cross-referenced against speeding and traffic offences. Then the study compared this data with motorists' dates of birth.
Birthdays apparently safer than others include drivers born on May 31, while those born on the first of the month were less likely to have motoring convictions.
However, the most dangerous birthdays were found to be February 29, September 16 and December 24. Overall, people with December dates of birth were most commonly the least safe drivers.
While the statistics from an online cheap car insurance quote firm reveal apparent correlations between risky driving and dates of birth, it was claimed that the findings were not used to determine cover rates and no-one would be refused cover based on their birthday.
