Drivers warned not to speed by banner outside school
A banner designed by a nine-year-old boy is set to warn car insurance holders in Worcester about the dangers of breaking the speed limit.
According to a report, the child, who is a pupil at a primary school in Malvern Link, won a competition run by Recognition Express Hereford and Worcester which has collaborated with national road safety charity Brake.
The artwork will be displayed next to a road outside of the school to promote road safety to passing motorists. Statistics compiled by Brake have revealed that 10 children under the age of 19 sustain serious injuries either on foot or bicycles every day in the UK.
Paul Boeck, owner of Recognition Express Hereford and Worcester, said, "We hope that the competition has helped to communicate some important road safety messages and will encourage the children to stay safe.
"It was hard to choose one winner but we felt that [this student's] banner would be a powerful reminder to passing traffic to slow down."
Car insurance holders who obey speed limits and drive safely reduce the risk of becoming involved in a road accident, improving their chances of finding a cheap car insurance quote in the future.
