Traffic lights tampered with in Congresbury, Bristol
In order to avoid what could turn into a hefty car insurance quote and the loss of their no-claims bonus, motorists should be wary of driving on the A370 in Congresbury, Bristol.
The temporary traffic lights in place were tampered with, which caused misery for commuters in the area, some of whom might have cheap car insurance, and have led to the council installing CCTV cameras in order to catch the perpetrators.
The traffic lights are placed at a particularly busy intersection on the main route between Weston-super-Mare, Somerset, and Bristol.
Workers are currently making £250,000 worth of road repairs to the road and pavement, upgrading manhole covers, as well as resurfacing the road.
A spokesperson for the council has appealed for anyone with knowledge of the incident to come forward, stating, "Anybody who is tampering with the lights has caused chaos for road users... We said we wanted to keep disruption to a minimum and asked road users to be patient while we carry out the work but we can't legislate for irresponsible people interfering with the traffic light equipment."
Because of the actions of some reckless people, motorists' car insurance quotes and no-claims bonus' could have been affected if they were involved in a crash.
