Vehicle accident on A35 and car insurance quotes
Two motorists escaped with nothing more than the prospect of more expensive car insurance quotes after a crash on the A35 near Litton Cheney. The individuals were involved in the second of a pair of road accidents which occurred on the same road within four days.
The three car pile-up was caused as a result of thick fog near the town of Askerswell. A witness to the crash, who assisted one of the victims out of her car, said, "One of the drivers was out of his car in seconds and I thought he was going to do a runner but he collapsed on the verge. He looks like he had a cut right across his forehead."
Police are stating that the two accidents were caused by the drivers not paying enough attention to road signs which warned motorists of extensive road closures and lane restrictions. A police officer said, "The signs are put out for drivers' safety and if people ignore them then accidents are going to happen."
Thick fog seems to be an especially dangerous risk for drivers using the A35, as just one month prior to these accidents there was a multiple-car accident involving twelve vehicles.
The accident involved rush hour traffic, occurring at just after eight in the morning.
Two of the victims were fortunate escape without serious harm as their cars burst into flames not long after the moment of impact. They had managed to withdraw to a safe distance, but the situation could have ended very differently.
Drivers are being warned that in order to escape a nasty accident or a hefty car insurance quote they need to drive more carefully in treacherous weather conditions, especially where road works are concerned.
