Car insurance quotes may rise for dangerous drivers

A road safety campaign in Perthshire has already caught a number of dangerous motorists who may now find it difficult to get a cheap car insurance quote in the future.

Those found to be driving dangerously in the area during the crackdown include a 30-year-old man and a 29-year-old female.

A police spokesman said: "Drug driving, drink driving or a potentially lethal cocktail of both can have extremely serious consequences.

"As such, I would appeal to anyone who knows of, or suspects someone of getting behind the wheel of a vehicle, or riding a motorcycle while under the influence of drugs or drink to call the police immediately with as much information as possible.

"Doing so could very well save lives and will send a clear message to people involved in this criminal behavior that they cannot get away with it."

Any UK motor insurance customer caught driving whilst under the influence could easily find that the consequences may affect their chance to get a cheap car insurance quote in years to come.
