Road trips abroad more interesting for woman drivers

Instead of taking in the sights of our English countryside, woman car insurance customers prefer jetting off abroad, an online website can reveal.

With mile upon mile of natural beauty here in the UK, it seems somewhat disappointing that a survey showed female drivers would prefer to drive across America and take in the different cultures that the big US has to offer.

The findings were part of a competition launched by CoverGirl Car Insurance Services to find the new face of their company. To be in with a chance of winning, ladies had to describe what their ideal road trip would be.

Out of the many entries they received, 44% said that they would enjoy travelling through America, particularly along Route 66 and to Las Vegas and Hollywood. In stark contrast to this, just 17% said they would stay in the UK and drive around our country lanes.

A spokesperson for the women's car insurance company said, "We received a great response to our brand new competition and had some really interesting road trip stories from all the aspiring models that entered.

"It was surprising that so many women preferred to travel across America because there are some fantastic places to visit here in the UK."

The national survey also found that 20% of motor insurance customers would like to take a road trip through the different of countries in Europe with only 6% preferring to explore Africa.
