Cheap car insurance affected by being impatient behind wheel
Any safe and considerate driver knows that in order to obtain cheap car insurance they need to be patient behind the wheel of their car and not cause car accidents, yet, according to a poll conducted by a top car insurance comparison website, Britain is filled with angry motorists.
A worrying 75% of motorists say that they have become angry with another driver when on the road, and a quarter of the population says that they have experienced some form of threat or abuse from an angry driver. Furthermore, one in ten drivers admits to following another driver who has annoyed them.
The poll can now lay to rest any stereotypical beliefs that it is mainly young male drivers who experience road rage, as 76% of women say that they become angry while driving, compared to 69% of men. However, it is male road users who are more likely to threaten or carry out a physical assault against their fellow motorists.
Ensuring that drivers have the correct car insurance in place is now more important than ever as this survey reveals Britain's roads to be a more hostile place than may have previously been thought, which increases the chance of an accident.
Interestingly, 42% of drivers questioned for the poll said they were not angry people in normal day-to-day life off the highway. So, in order to ensure that road users avoid any accidents and are able to find cheap car insurance it is important that they calm down when they are driving and respect their fellow motorists.
