Surfers take a bit longer in a recession

In the current recession buyers searching online for cheap car insurance obviously want to make sure they get the best motor cover deal that they can and new data from Swinton has revealed that drivers are prepared to spend an average of two hours surfing car insurance websites for the best deal possible.

A year ago the average search time for a cheap car insurance quote was one and a half hours and it had fallen by around five to fifteen minutes every year for several years.

However, the 1,000 insurance buyers polled recently revealed that they were now more likely to spend longer comparing policies before actually making the purchase.

A duck2water spokesperson said, "Buying from a dedicated online car insurance provider, such as duck2water, means that overheads will be as low as possible and you are very likely to find a more competitive renewal quote.

"But we would always advise our customers to read the small print of any online policy so that they make sure their cheap car insurance provides them with all the cover they require."
