Launch of the 2008 Ford Focus

With the start of 2008 comes the relaunch of the Ford Focus, to what appears to be almost uniformly good reviews.

As with any relaunch, though, Ford car insurance companies are ready to keep an eye on the coming year to see if any reliability figures change.

Reliability has previously been an excellent feature in the Focus, as its 5-star EuroNCAP rating shows. This is yet to be issued to the 2008 model, but its improved anti-skid features suggest that it may well be maintained.

While that is undecided, appreciation for the vehicle is widespread in the UK amongst motor insurance customers and industry experts. A review in Autotrader saw the writer describing himself as going "gooey-eyed" over the sporty ST model. Fifth Gear gave it a glowing five-star review, going so far as to say that "the new Focus doesn't just do its job; it sets the benchmark for the class."

This level of praise sounds good for drivers. The news that the green credentials have been increased, particularly on the ECOnetic version, is probably good for everyone; it can reduce running costs from fuel and road tax, and - assuming reliability continues - the Ford car insurance premiums should also stay low.
