Partners driving each other crazy
Temperamental lovers may be risking their chances of obtaining cheap car insurance quotes, according to a study by a UK motor insurer.
Just as Tiger Woods said goodbye to his cheap car insurance hopes when he crashed his car into a tree following an argument with his wife, many in the UK are suffering from "romantic road rage".
"A driver's performance can be significantly affected by their emotional state," commented a leading psychologist.
"Being upset, angry or frustrated with a partner or lover is a sure-fire way to distract from safe and responsible driving. With personal issues racing through their mind, drivers are at risk of subconsciously releasing tension by driving fast, or on the other hand being distracted by their heartache," she added.
According to the study, one in five Brits admitted to driving erratically following an argument with a partner, while one in twelve confessed to crashing a car following an argument, thereby greatly reducing the chances of receiving cheap car insurance.
