TV campaign promotes cheap car insurance product for eco-friendly drivers
Co-operative Insurance (CIS) has launched a huge advertising campaign to promote a new cheap car insurance policy for drivers who care about the environment.
The campaign, which cost £1.3m, runs under the slogan "Now you can get green car insurance that doesn't cost the earth." It focuses on how carbon dioxide emissions, one of the greatest pollutants from cars, adversely affect the environment.
The cheap car insurance company claims that their motor insurance policies are filled with eco-friendly features that can reduce the damaging effects we are having on the planet.
Drivers who get their car insurance with CIS will be able to offset 20% of the CO2 they produce, which will not cost any more as it is fully funded by CIS itself.
David Newman, director of marketing for CIS, explained: "This is a significant campaign designed to make people aware of our alternative 'green' motor insurance policy which offsets harmful CO2 emissions and contributes to the management of the environmental impact throughout the entire journey."
Motorists who drive 'green' cars will find they get a very cheap car insurance deal under the eco-friendly policy. They will enjoy a special discount on their premium as a reward for owning less polluting vehicles.
Mr Newman added: "It is apparent that more and more consumers are becoming environmentally aware and that influences what they buy, including the purchase of cars.
"We now have in place a high quality product, delivered by a trusted and ethically-guided insurer, that will allow customers to take that choice one step further by insuring their cars with a conscience too."
