Ford car insurance customers most loyal to brand

Ford car insurance customers are amongst the most loyal to their cars, according to research from Admiral.

In a study carried out on behalf of Auto Express, the cheap car insurance company investigated whether or not motorists would stick with the same manufacturer if their car was written off.

Admiral discovered that owners of Fords are the most loyal to their car's maker, with 40.3% of those who had to replace their car choosing another Ford as its replacement.

However, Ford's customer loyalty was closely followed by that of Volkswagen drivers. The cheap car insurance provider revealed the equivalent figure for replacement VWs to be 39.9%.

Next in the listings was Mercedes, with 35.9% of its customers displaying loyalty in their next choice of car, and then BMW, with its 32.2% loyalty rating.

As well as uncovering loyalty successes such as Ford and VW, Admiral's research also showed which manufacturers do not have such a good record when it comes to repeat business. Amongst these was Audi, which was 13th in the motor insurance company's list.

A spokesperson for Admiral commented on this, saying: "It's surprising to see that Audi doesn't make an appearance in the top 10, especially considering which other brands feature towards the top of the table.

"Audi is known for producing cars with strong build quality and a thrilling driving experience, and you'd think that would be enough to entice owners to buy another. But that doesn't seem to be the case," he finished.
