Cheap quotes for safe drivers whatever their age

The availability of cheap car insurance is helped greatly if drivers maintain a long no claims record and keep penalty endorsements off their licence. However, a driver from Boston, USA, could see his licence disappear altogether if he is prosecuted after a driving mistake that led to an accident recently.

According to police reports the 93-year-old driver of a Toyota Camry mistook the accelerator for the brake whilst attempting to park outside a Wal-Mart store.

His car then careered through the shop front, destroying two cash register stations and injuring a mother and her one-year-old baby girl who were both taken to hospital.

The man's wife, who was a passenger beside him, was also taken to hospital as a precaution and three other people were treated in hospital for shock.

A shopper inside the store told reporters that he heard a shattering sound as the car collided with the shop window.

He added, "Then I heard the screams and I said, 'something is very wrong'."

He told of people running "everywhere" and how, when the car came to rest, the elderly occupants just sat still in the vehicle.

"They were just sitting there very calm," he said.

Authorities reported that the car had "squeezed" through concrete pillars meant to stop ram-raiders and repairs to the shop were likely to cost in the region of $50,000 to $60,000.

A spokesperson for dark2water, providers of cheap car insurance quotes for all, said, "This driver is likely to be charged for careless driving and may find his licence endorsed or disqualified and this will greatly affect his motor cover costs."
