Cheap car insurance to slip out of reach

Motor insurer Admiral has predicted that UK drivers are going to have a tougher job getting cheap car insurance in 2008 thanks to imminent premium rises.

The head of Admiral Insurance believes that the cost of car insurance premiums, which has been seen to increase by 5% over the past year, will continue to rise into 2008, adding as much as another 6% onto car insurance quotes.

He explained: "Prices were really flat between 2002 and 2006 but insurers' costs have increased because of issues such as wage rises.

"Rises have already started but we expect the increase to be more of a creep than a leap," the chief executive of the cheap car insurance company finished.
