Motor-sports driver may require specialist Mini insurance
A thrill seeker and prospective cheap car insurance customer has taken his passion for rally car driving to new levels by creating a Mini fit for the ski slopes.
The highly-modified vehicle has been put through its paces on a demanding course, featuring a 30 metre jump and a lengthy stair run.
Funding for the project came from the city vehicle manufacturers who count Mini car insurance among their range of products and Monster, the energy drink producers.
The highly regarded motor-sports driver said, "I love the rush of adrenalin that both [skiing and rally car] can bring, and one day, I came up with this crazy idea of doing them both together.
"I spent a long time designing the course, and talking to my sponsors about the car specifications - but it was such a thrill when I finally got to try out my new sport.
"I'm already working on designing a much bigger and better car that is lighter, more powerful - and less expensive."
Internet users can see the ski-car performing a series of complex spins and hurtling onto an avalanche barrier in a specially produced Youtube video.
People have been advised against emulating the modifications and stunts performed by the extreme sports enthusiast, in order to reduce the risk of invalidating their cheap car insurance.
