Drivers told to park in garage for cheap car insurance quotes
The British Insurance Brokers' Association (BIBA) is informing motorists that where they park their cars could have a big impact on their car insurance quotes.
According to the organisation, motorists who choose to park in their garage can get a much cheaper car insurance quote than those who park on the street as they have a much lower chance of having their car damaged or broken into.
Motorists from London and those who own expensive cars could find quite a dramatic drop in their car insurance quotes simply by parking in the garage.
A spokesperson for BIBA said: "The theft and vandalism factor is so much less if it is kept in a garage that most insurers recognise that and are willing to give you a discount."
However, he warned that not all motor insurance companies assign the same importance to this factor so the amount of money you get off your car insurance quote will vary.
