Quotes to get cheaper with launch of new comparison system
Motorists looking for a cheaper car insurance quote look set to benefit from the looming launch of a new aggregator service.
Moneyextra is planning to trial a new software system in April that is designed to convert more interested customers into policy buyers.
The firm's managing director, Richard Mason, said this latest technological system could increase take up by ten per cent, increasing conversions from 15 per cent to 25 per cent. This would mean one in four people were likely to buy a policy in a single transaction.
He said, "This will allow us to charge insurers less and provide us with more competitive quotes."
By integrating data more tightly, Moneyextra aims to reduce the dropout rate that occurs when insurance customers are forced to switch from the aggregator site to a new website.
Now, insurance policies will appear to be sold via the aggregator with the latest system allowing would-be policy buyers to receive and buy premium quotes on the comparison site.
Cheaper car insurance quotes, as well as better deals on home cover, look likely for many prospective purchasers once the new site is formally launched in May.
