Awards for online car insurance provider

An online car insurance company has been awarded the top prize at the 2007 Financial Services Forum awards.

Swiftcover.com was recognised for the series of TV adverts for cheap car insurance which feature chickens, being named the "most effective financial ad campaign of the year".

Its adverts promote the simplicity of buying car insurance online and the slogan "Click, click don't cluck, cluck." However, in the process of advertising its motor insurance policies, Swiftcover.com came under fire for featuring chickens as call centre workers.

A spokesperson for the Financial Services Forum commented: "This year's winners represent the large brands and the small, and their work covers everything from small, targeted tactical sales aids to multi-million pound brand advertising. The one thing they all have in common is effectiveness."

The online car insurance provider also shared a special award for market learning with Lloyds TSB Insurance, after it sponsored the British International Motor Show.
