Citroen takes major "green" award
There are celebrations for Citroen as the company is named "Car Manufacturer of the Year" at the prestigious GreenFleet Awards.
At the awards, which celebrate eco-friendly motoring, Citroen fought off competition from rivals Toyota and Honda, which are both perhaps more famous for their eco-friendly motors than the French firm.
However, judges were won over by Citroen's range of low emission, fuel efficient vehicles and the high percentage of its cars which have diesel engines. Citroen's diesels are particularly eco-friendly thanks to the Diesel Particulate Filter Systems which are fitted to much of the range.
With Citroen's C2 and C3 models featuring systems to make them run even more efficiently and three ultra-green Citroens about to be launched at the Frankfurt Motor Show, Citroen seems to be a deserving GreenFleet award winner.
As well as taking the "Car Manufacturer of the Year" title, Citroen was also named a runner up in the "Green Marketing Campaign of the Year" and "LCV Manufacturer of the Year" categories.
