Confused.com beats online car insurance competition

Confused.com has come out on top of a study to find the best online car insurance comparison site.

Consumer Intelligence, a research organisation, put to the test four of the leading websites which compare car insurance quotes for UK drivers.

After inputting 1000 driver profiles into each of the motor insurance quote engines, Consumer Intelligence concluded that it was Confused.com which returned the cheapest car insurance quotes most often.

According to its results, Confused.com beat its rival online car insurance comparison sites by quite a sizeable margin. It was able to find the best value motor insurance quotes a hundred times more often than its closest competitor.

Previous research from Consumer Intelligence revealed that the number of people turning to the net to compare car insurance quotes peaked in August 2007, but has since been on the decline. It also found that Confused.com was the most popular online comparison site, followed by moneysupermarket.com and GoCompare.
