Police crackdown could mean cheap car insurance
As many as 53 drivers could find themselves without cheap car insurance after Dyfed Powys Police had a crackdown on motoring offences.
The police arrested more than 50 people, 17 of whom were motorists who were drink driving and 10 of whom were suspected of committing some kind of vehicle crime.
In the crackdown, the DVLA also had 48 vehicles seized for being driven without road tax, and more than 70 cars were seized from people who were driving without motor insurance or a licence.
A spokesperson for Dyfed Powys Police said: "By working in partnership and utilising intelligence-led systems, we can make a difference to road safety and ensure that the message gets across the small element of drivers who would contemplate using the road network in an illegal manner to think twice before drink driving or driving without a licence."
Corrine Aldous of duck2water Car Insurance Services commented: "By cracking down on these illegal motorists, the police could also be helping other drivers to get cheap car insurance deals.
"Better road safety means cheaper motor insurance premiums for road users - something which will be undoubtedly be welcomed by every legal driver."
