BMW driver fined for driving without motor cover
A motorist's BMW car insurance had expired only days before when police pulled him up while he was driving, according to a court report.
The man, aged in his 20s, was stopped on a road in Enniskillen, Northern Ireland, just before Christmas last year.
He was summonsed to court after records were checked that proved he failed to produce his motor cover documents at a police station as requested.
The court heard that the man had taken his BMW car off the road, although he had re-insured it in January this year. The defendant said his insurance had only been a few days out of date at the time of the offence.
For failing to have BMW car insurance, he was fined £250 and received six penalty points on his driving licence.
