Roundabout crash may increase driver's Renault car insurance

One driver's Renault car insurance premium is almost certainly set to increase after his car left the road while negotiating a roundabout in Sunderland.

His Renault Megane was involved in a collision with a lamppost after leaving the road at approximately 7.30am. A witness said that "The car was badly smashed up. The driver's door was stoved in quite spectacularly and the windscreen had popped in."

No other drivers appear to have been involved.

The accident victim was stuck, so firefighters were called to remove him using cutting equipment. He is not thought to have received any serious injury, although he was taken to hospital. Repairs to the Megane will be needed, and any UK cheap motor insurance company may raise their quote to him following this incident.
