Irresponsible drivers do not purchase motor insurance

Influential road safety charity Brake has said that the government should consider it a priority to remove people without cheap car insurance from the UK's roads.

A representative of the non-profit making organisation pointed out that uninsured drivers are more prone to taking risks when behind the wheel than those who have taken out a policy.

She also said that people who choose against investing in car insurance are unlikely to stick around at the scene of a car accident.

"It is vital that we see action to remove these highly irresponsible and illegal drivers from our roads," she went on.

She concluded by saying that there are a variety of motoring hazards, and that it is important that drivers take other road users into account.

In related news, the continuous insurance enforcement scheme has recently been launched, with the aim of tackling those drivers who aren't prepared to pay for cover.

The irresponsible motorists will initially incur a warning, and then a £100 fine. If they still don't abide by the law then their vehicles may be destroyed.

It has recently been revealed that people who opt against investing in cheap car insurance cost the insurance industry £500m every year.
